We are committed to professional qualifications and strong technical knowledge, both for our advisers and for our support staff. We fund examinations, professional memberships and additional training to encourage our staff to add to their knowledge and technical capabilities.
Efficiency
We aim to process any paperwork on the day of receipt and will acknowledge that it has reached our office safely. Where complex forms are required to be signed by our clients we try to complete as much of the paperwork as we can ourselves to make things as easy as possible for our clients.
No Sales Targets
Neither Star House as a company nor its staff are driven by sales or financial targets which means our focus can be directed towards providing efficient and personable service to our clients.
No newsletters, cold calls or switchboards
Since we only provide personalised independent advice, we do not provide newsletters – these are by definition generic and it is our job to filter the excess of information in the marketplace for our clients. We do not cold call and when you call our office you will always speak to a human being.
We don't run seminars or workshops
Similarly, because our advice is individually tailored to the individual, we focus our time/efforts on servicing our existing clients really well, rather than on attracting new clients.
We don't advertise
Star House do not conduct marketing exercises; other than this website we do not advertise our services in any way. Therefore, you will not find us on VouchedFor, The Money Advice Service or comparison websites.
No discrimination based on wealth
Many financial advisers today try to turn away people of limited means. Whilst we deal with a number of very wealthy individuals and families with particularly complex circumstances, we are very happy to talk to anyone who has been recommended to us. However, we will always be honest if we don't feel it would be cost-effective to use our services.
Referrals and Recommendations
Word-of-mouth referrals from existing clients have always been the foundation of our business which is why we believe it is vitally important to maintain a strong long-term relationship with all of our clients.
